BIO

I'm Christina, owner of The Island Gypsy. I'm a HUGE animal lover and have had many pets over the years. I am currently a certified member of PSI (Pet Sitters International), certified in Pet CPR & First Aid and my business is bonded and insured. I've been the "go to" pet sitter for friends, family & clients for over 2 decades now. I have 2 cats, who are like my children...spoiled! Leaving your babies in others hands is often difficult, so I strive to make each visit as stress free and comfortable as possible. My cats are skittish and not great with new people right away, so I truly understand the cautionary approach necessary to deal with animals. I would love to be able to provide care and a great experience for someone in need. I want all my clients to rest assured that your pet(s) will be well taken care of, fed, hydrated, played with and walked plenty while you’re out enjoying your day. I’m notorious for being very affectionate with animals, so I hope they don’t mind lots of kisses, scritches and tummy rubs! I have one diabetic cat who requires insulin injections twice daily, so to administer any medications is no problem at all. I'd love the opportunity to get to know and spend time with your babies and care for them as I would my own. I want all my clients to feel 100% at ease leaving their pets in my hands as I truly understand the importance of keeping them safe and well taken care of.

Texts & photos will be provided to owners during each visit to give real time updates on the care of their pets. At the owner's request the sitter can bring in mail/newspapers if delivered directly to the home and alternate blinds & lights to give the home a “lived-in look” while owners are away. Key/Door/Alarm code(s) must be provided by owner at time of 1st visit.

Rates:

A complimentary meet & greet with pet(s) & owner(s) will be provided by the sitter, so there's an opportunity for everyone to get to know each other and make sure it's a good fit for all. I pride myself on keeping your fur babies safe, cared for and loved. I aim to provide as much of a stress-free experience as possible. I want all pets and owners to feel 100% comfortable with me, to know and trust that they're in great hands. Transparency is key, I want to know as much about each pet as possible from the owner, in order to provide elite service.

*Travel charge applies to all customers more than 10 miles away from sitter, total cost will be determined at time of booking depending on distance.*

Drop-In Visits (Up to 3 x’s daily):

30-minute drop in visits available from 7a-9p (includes the following, if applicable): Feeding, fresh water, medication administration, play/exercise, companionship, TLC, bathroom breaks and waste removal.

Per 30 min. Drop-In Visit: Dog: $25 / Puppy: $28 / Cat: $23 / Kitten: $26 (1st pet only, per visit)

Each Addt’l Pet: Dog: +$15 / Puppy: +$18 / Cat: +$9 / Kitten: +$12 (each addt’l pet, per visit)

Extra 30 mins per visit (60 mins total): +$15 (1st pet only, per visit) / Each addt’l pet: +$5 each

Holiday Rate (Day before, day of & day after any major federal holiday): Dog: $32 / Puppy: $35 / Cat: $30 / Kitten: $33 (1st pet only, per visit)

Holiday Rate (Day before, day of & day after any major federal holiday) for each addt’l pet: Dog: +$22 / Puppy: +$25 / Cat: +$16 / Kitten: +$19 (each addt’l pet, per visit)

Holiday Rate (Day before, day of & day after any major federal holiday) Extra 30 mins per visit (60 mins total): +$22 (1st pet only, per visit) / Each addt’l pet: +$10 (per visit)

*Any other pet types will be evaluated for care and quoted on an individual basis*

Overnights (Minimum of 3 nights required to book):

*Overnights are 10 hour stays, usually 10p-8a, where the pet sitter will care for the client’s pet(s) in the pet’s own home.

*6+ Nights Extended Stay: 20% discount on entire stay*

Dogs:

Per Night: $100 (First 1-2 dogs)

Each Addt’l Dog: +$50 (per dog, per night)

Holiday Rate (Day before, day of & day after any major federal holiday): $125 (First 1-2 dogs) / +$65 (per addt'l dog, per night)

Puppies (up to 6 months old):

Per Night: $120 (First 1-2 puppies)

Each Addt’l Puppy: +$60 (per puppy, per night)

Holiday Rate (Day before, day of & day after any major federal holiday): $145 (First 1-2 puppies) / +$75 (per addt'l puppy, per night)

Cats:

Per Night: $75 (First 1-2 Cats)

Each Addt’l Cat: +$25 (per cat, per night)

Holiday Rate (Day before, day of & day after any major federal holiday): $100 (First 1-2 cats) / +$40 (per addt'l cat, per night)

Kittens (Up to 6 months old):

Per Night: $90 (First 1-2 kittens)

Each Addt’l Kitten: +$30 (per kitten, per night)

Holiday Rate (Day before, day of & day after any major federal holiday): $115 (First 1-2 kittens) / +$45 (per addt'l kitten, per night)

*Any other pet types will be evaluated for care and quoted on an individual basis

**Overnight ADD ON's available (The following "drop in" rates apply only when booking an overnight stay):

In addition to total daily overnight quote: 1 drop in = +20% / 2 drop in's = +35% / 3 drop in's = +50% ***

*Extended Care Available: Addt'l 4-7 hours per day +50% of total overnight rate / Addt'l 8+ hours per day +75% of total overnight rate*

Accepted Payment Methods:

Credit/Debit Card: a 4% convenience surcharge will apply to ALL card payments (in addition to the total balance); payment link will be sent at time of booking.

**Any cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to scheduled date/time for a FULL refund. Cancellations made less than 48 hours from booking will be eligible for a 50% refund ONLY, as this time has been specifically reserved for you.**
